Radio
Movie critic Roger Ebert says that "every once in a while, human nature expresses itself in a way we can feel good about, and [Radio] is one of these times." "Radio" is based on an article that appeared in Sports Illustrated magazine about mentally disabled local hero James Robert Kennedy. Kennedy, nicknamed Radio for his affinity to hand held transistors, gained fame in South Carolina for serving as an inspiration and mental cheerleader to many high school football teams in the state since the seventies. In the film, the dull-witted yet harmless Radio (Academy Award® winner Gooding Jr., Shadowboxer, The Fighting Temptations) is rescued from the taunts and jeers of a group of football team bullies by Coach Harold Jones (Golden Globe® winner Harris, Winter Passing, Empire Falls). Jones sees a clarity and honesty in Radio's actions - and he commits himself to involving Radio with the team. Radio can't play football, but his all-out support for the team, his candidly sincere comments, and sunny and enigmatic nature endear him slowly but surely to the school, and to the rest of the town.

Ray
Jamie Foxx stars in this biopic of legendary soul and R&B singer Ray Charles. Skillfully edited and with a keen eye for period detail, the narrative weaves in and out of the past in an interlocking tapestry of the man's rise to fame in the 1950s and '60s. Growing up poor, black, and blind in the rural south, Charles learns - under the tutelage of his tough-love mother - to turn these handicaps into assets. With this training, Ray eventually plays his way into a major deal with Paramount records and earns iconic status as an American legend. Along the way, the high cost of fame leads him to engage in abusive relationships, manipulative behavior, and struggles with drug and alcohol problems. This is a dynamite film for the music alone (Charles's actual recordings are used in the film), but Foxx's career-benchmark performance; which won him BAFTA®, Oscar® and Golden Globe® awards, transcends RAY's biopic roots, turning this into a piercing, full-on character study: unflinching, sometimes harrowing, and ultimately deeply moving. The sheer joy of Charles's music comes alive in Foxx's movements, and his character matures convincingly and powerfully till the end.

His eldest brother, Prince Hector (Bana, Munich, Lucky You), is furious when he finds out that Helen is with them. With Helen's abduction, war is imminent. As Menelaus (Gleeson, Studs) seeks retribution, his war-mongering brother, King Agamemnon (Emmy® Award winner Cox, The Ringer, Red Eye), uses it as an excuse to attack Troy, and lay waste to the last proud kingdom that refuses to bow to Greece. Menelaus rounds up a veritable alliance of warriors and kings, including the legendary Odysseus (Bean, Flightplan) and Achilles (Golden Globe® winner Pitt, Mr. & Mrs. Smith). The great warrior is blase at first about being in the war, having been warned by his mother, Thetis, that should he join, he will never return alive. However, when Achilles' beloved cousin, Patroclus, is inadvertently killed by Hector in battle, Achilles' fury is intense and he wants no less than a duel to the death with Hector. The war is the start of the destruction of the city of Troy. And death in war seems to be the only way to ensure that one is remembered for all time as being brave, noble and honorable.
