Dr. Susan McAlester is a researcher, based on a mid-ocean research station, experimenting on sharks in the hope of finding a cure for Alzheimer's disease. Three of the genetically engineered sharks develop superhuman intelligence and begin hunting down their creators – chasing them when the floating station begins to sink during a tropical storm.
