Convicted for the rape and murder of an 11 year-old girl without any evidence, Bobby Earl insists that it was his death row neighbor Blair Sullivan who did it. He appeals to the only man who can help him – Paul Armstrong, a Harvard law professor who swears against capital punishment. He takes on the case and whisks himself off to Florida. As Bobby's death draws nearer, Paul finds the all-important shadow of doubt he needs to prove his client's innocence. Everything slowly falls into place. But there's something about Bobby that still doesn’t feel right.
